(MP3 Podcast on ParisDJs.com) T.I.M.E.C., 2008-01-02

Info :
We've prepared four new mixes in the 'Molesting Laura' series, which, as you might already know, are be all about covers, mashups and classic tracks reworked in a brand new style... And if you're still guessing who this mysterious Laura is, let's just say that the owls are not what people think they are...

Served first is Grant Phabao and Djouls are Molesting Laura Vol.8, an incredible funk'n'disco mix of smashing covers and clobbering re-edits. Expect to dig memories of Matata, The Meters, Rage Against The Machine, Kool And The Gang, James Brown, The Beatles, Vanilla Fudge or even John Barry's theme from 'Superman'... This is heavy dancefloor business for funk lovers, and we can only hope that our favorite incredible melting entertainment compagnons Grant Phabao and Djouls will keep on 'Molesting Laura' for a long, long time.

You might then want to check Grant Phabao and Djouls are Molesting Laura Vol.9, an 'All Directions In Jazz' dish of old and new reworks of soul, rock, pop, funk, house or even Ethiopian jazz. The covers range from Herbie Hancock, Eumir Deodato, The Cure, Outkast, Isolee, Mulatu Atsake to Marvin Gaye, in classy jazz dressings. 30 minutes of jazz hit-singles eclectism for an intense and swinging trip - don't pass out on this!
[ONLINE NEXT MONDAY - JANUARY 7]

If you're not tired yet of all this craziness in music, you might then be the lucky listener of Grant Phabao and Djouls are Molesting Laura Vol.10, a really 'out there' combination of soul, ska, funk, balakanese beats, swing, hip hop, rock and pop; with covers of Dusty Springfield, Herbie Hancock (again), Kylie Minogue, Outkast (again, too!), Van Morrison or Johnny Pate, but also some strange mashups of Peggy Lee and Iggy Pop, and of The Flaming Lips and Marvin Gaye. This has got to be heard to be believed!
[ONLINE THE SATURDAY AFTER - JANUARY 12]

Finally, to cool things down a little bit, we've cooked a wicked set of soul and funk reggae covers, Grant Phabao and Djouls are Molesting Laura Vol.11, which got us digging quite deep into our Jamaican funk compilations, albums and singles, for some smokin' takes on The Temptations, The White Stripes, Lalo Schifrin, Dusty Springfield, The Meters, Stevie Wonder, William DeVaughn, Billy Paul or Syl Johnson.
