Paris DJs Soundsystem - Nearly Shadow (MP3 Podcast on www.ParisDJs.com) 2009-05-23 We've been cooking this mix for a long time, selecting its pieces slowly, one by one... The idea was to collect tracks that were obviously or not-so-obviously influenced by Dj Shadow's masterpiece and first album (on the defunct Mo' Wax label), Endtroducing. Some names spring to mind instantly, like Rjd2 (featured here), but we've tried to dig into many places, from the forgotten (DJ Bias of Lewis Parker fame, J-Walk who's second album will happen soon on Peacefrog, Manitoba now called Caribou), to the unknown in Europe (Mnemotrauma, Joe Beats from Non Prophets who's albums are just fantastic and who we had picked up for our This Is The New Hip Hop Thing CD compilation) and the bigger names (Gnarls Barkley). No Blockhead, no Wax Taylor, no DJ Cam, no UNKLE, no Diplo, no Aim... There surely are many other artists who've given props to that first Dj Shadow album and if you've got suggestions for a second volume don't hesitate to leave a comment! Tracklisting : 01.
